Shen Disturbance - How Ghosts and Demons are seen and treated in Chinese Medicine Part 1 or 2

Online Class

Hours 2.5

Instructor: Deirdre Courtney

In the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) in the Taoist book, Cultivation of Realization, it says: “Ghosts are people who have already died: people are ghosts who have not yet died.”

Participants in this workshop will learn about the concept of Shen disturbance, possession (Gu syndrome) and how it relates to illness, including conditions such as Mania and Epilepsy. They will also learn how people create their own internal demons and where we can see it on the Face.

Treatment for anxiety, depression and obsessive thinking will be discussed. Participants will be given a deeper understanding of The Five Spirits and how they relate to the Ghost Points and the Spirit (Gui) Points. Specific point combinations will be given for treating the various mental illnesses and for healing fragmented Spirits.
